Each horizontal rectangle represents one company, with area proportional to its market value. The left half shows 1995; the right half shows 2025. In 1995, market value was relatively evenly distributed among large firms. By 2025, the largest companies occupy dramatically larger areas, revealing the rise of market concentration and the dominance of a small number of firms in U.S. equity markets.
